Meet Our Director
Why did you get into senior living?
While working in Property Management/Real Estate I met a Developer who was planning on building a senior living community next door to one of my properties that I was managing. With my own parents getting older at that time, I was intrigued by his vision for this development. After several conversations over coffee he convinced me to come work for him and manage this community. As I started meeting families and moving new residents in, I knew I found my calling and that was 24 years ago. I feel extremely blessed to be a part of my residents and their families lives.
Who inspires you?
To name just one person is impossible. I am always inspired by those who make lemonade when given a bag of lemons. But the first person that came to mind is my oldest son. Born at 25 weeks (28 years ago) with a rare and very serious neurological disorder he never gave up. His life has not always been easy yet he has never complained or asked for pity. His amazing attitude and spirit are my guiding light.
What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
That I have an adventurous spirit. I love trying new things, love roller coasters (the higher and faster the better) recently I tried out my son’s “One Wheel” downhill even. Woo Hoo!
Beatles or Elvis?
Don’t make me choose… I love them both. Having much older siblings that were huge Beatles fans, their music helped me to connect with them despite our age differences and Elvis… well, my very best friend of 45 years spent many of days playing Elvis records and watching his movies. Great memories!
How did you wind up at Inspired Living?
My oldest son worked with someone whose parent worked at Inspired Living. The conversation came up that they were looking for an Executive Director in Bonita Springs. I wasn’t looking to make a change but after doing some research and my son telling me to “Go for it” I gave the recruiter a call and one thing led to another. Once I met the Executive Team, I knew this was where I wanted to be.
What do you want your legacy to be?
That I worked hard, didn’t take anything for granted, that I always gave it my best and that I raised my children to be good human beings and at my worst I could still laugh and smile.
