Dorian Update 9/3/2019 8:00 AM

Dorian remains stalled over the Bahamas and losing definition but is still a powerful storm, and is projected to maintain its intensity over the next few days according to NOAA.

We will continue to keep a very close watch and remain prepared as we move through peak hurricane season, however, the projected path of the storm is keeping Florida’s coast out of the worst parts of it.

Dorian Update 9/2/2019 5:00 PM

Dorian is currently in the Bahamas as a category 4 storm with a slight northwestward motion. Although the storm is currently stationary it is expected to resume a slow westward to west-northwestern motion early Tuesday. The track remains trending to stay offshore of the Eastern coast of Florida.

NOAA states “although the center of Dorian is forecast to move near, but parallel to, the Florida east coast, only a small deviation of the track toward the west would bring the core of the hurricane onshore,” so Inspired Living remains on high alert with the Community Service Center resuming normal business hours Tuesday morning.

We will be offering complimentary childcare to all associates who are affected by school closures in their Florida and Georgia based communities, with meals and snacks.

Dorian Update 9/2/2019 8:00 AM

Hurricane Dorian is currently in the Bahamas as a category 5 storm and moving slowly.

NOAA states that “life-threatening storm surges and dangerous hurricane-force winds are expected along portions of the Florida east coast through mid-week, and storm surge and hurricane warnings are in effect” and “only a slight deviation to the left of the official forecast would bring the core of Dorian near or over the Florida east coast,” so we remain prepared and vigilant. A hurricane warning remains in effect for much of the east coast of Florida.

We will be offering complimentary childcare to all associates who are affected by school closures in their Florida and Georgia based communities, with meals and snacks.

Dorian Update 8/31/2019 8:00 PM

As of the 5 PM NOAA update a tropical storm watch is in effect for a portion of the Florida east coast. Since Dorian is forecast to slow down and turn northward as it approaches the coast, life-threatening storm surge and dangerous hurricane-force winds are still possible along portions of the Florida east coast by the early to middle part of next week.

Our call and text alert system is going to be the best resource for regular updates so if you are not on the list to receive messages reach out to the community you are associated with.

Dorian Update 8/31/2019 8:30 AM

The latest models are showing the eyewall of Hurricane Dorian moving offshore, but still impacting the east coast of Florida. Residents from Palm Beach County to Brevard County should anticipate high, sustained winds. According to NOAA.GOV, hurricane-force winds and storm surge are expected in coastal regions of Florida by early to middle of next week, but since it’s forecasted to slow down and turn northward it’s too early to determine where that will be.

Currently, Martin County is under a Voluntary/Phased evacuation order according to FloridaDisaster.org. Brevard County is the only county currently under a mandatory evacuation order.

The community support team is coordinating regularly to ensure that all proper precautions are in place, and all Inspired Living communities potentially impacted by Hurricane Dorian are prepared. We are ready.
