Raising awareness for Alzheimer’s through an enormous fundraising event.
Last year on Oct. 20, 2017, Inspired Living at Kenner hosted an enormous fundraiser to help raise awareness for Alzheimer’s disease.
Through their Masquerade for a Cure, the community raised over $12,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association, representing the largest single contribution the organization received from their region last year. At the time, Inspired Living at Kenner had only been open for six months. Being a newly built community, Inspired Living at Kenner was recognized by the Alzheimer’s Association and invited to attend a party earlier this year to honor their contribution.
Inspired Living at Kenner specializes in both assisted living and memory care and offers a myriad of opportunities for residents to live their most inspired lives. Sitting on over 10 acres, with an expansive secure courtyard to explore nature, an outdoor pool, walking paths, a serene water feature, and a multitude of indoor amenities; Inspired Living at Kenner provides a true resort style senior living experience while providing comprehensive care for their residents.
During the event, Masquerade for a Cure drew more than 175 attendees, including Inspired Living at Kenner’s honorary chairperson and event co-host, Bobby “the Cajun Cannon” Herbert, a former New Orleans Saints Quarterback. The event featured live music, dancing, gourmet catered food, cocktails, and a silent auction. Money was raised through a combination of local vendor sponsorship, donations of silent auction items from local businesses, and private donations from attendees. All event proceeds went to the Alzheimer’s Association’s local Louisiana chapter.
Speaking about the successful event, Daniel Ritter, executive director of Inspired Living at Kenner said, “I was more than pleased with the number of attendees and the amount of money that we raised for the Alzheimer’s Association, especially being a brand-new community. The Alzheimer’s Association has always had a special place in my heart, and I could not think of a more wonderful organization to donate the proceeds to. Hopefully, one day, they find a cure for this terrible disease. I am very proud of our team at Inspired Living Kenner. Our dedicated team chose to work in this industry for a reason, and I am honored to work with such dedicated professionals.”
The community will host their second-annual Masquerade for a Cure event, scheduled for Oct. 19, 2018. The goal is to exceed the incredible attendance and fundraising levels achieved by the first event, and everyone at Inspired Living Kenner is excited for the chance to build on their past success this fall.
